Many thanks to those who auditioned for the 2019 Winter Solstice Celebration!

Casting announcements are going out soon.

Check back next spring for 2020’s audition dates and times.

Every year, California Revels puts together a chorus totaling up to 50 or more singers. For many chorus members, participating in Revels is the highlight of their holiday season, bringing them together in community, transporting them to another time, and giving them comfort in the darkest days of the year. And, it’s a lot of fun!

Adult & Teen (Young Performer) Chorus vocal auditions for California Revels are done by reservation in small groups.

Prepare a short song, 1-2 minutes in length. Most applicants choose folk songs or classical songs, but choose something you know well. We do not recommend singing to a recording. A cappella is fine. Your 15-minute vocal audition will include a few vocal scales and exercises, and reading a short piece with your audition group. You may audition without an
appointment but you may need to wait.

Bring possible conflicts to add to your application. Photos are not required but, if you have a small one that we can staple to the audition form, so much the better!

There will be a short required dance audition, if you intend to dance in the performance. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Groups will be appx. 2:00pm and 4:00pm on Saturday, and once on Sunday around 4:30.

Children's Chorus

We are pleased to invite children ages 7-12 years to vocal auditions for the Christmas Revels. Children do not need to schedule an audition, but are asked to email the Production Manager -see below- so they will expect you. You should plan to stay the full 90 minutes depending on how groupings work out. Children will sing with a small group of other potential cast members in the order they arrive and sign in.

Children should prepare two unaccompanied songs, one being “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and another of their choice.

Please bring any advance notification of possible rehearsal or performance conflicts.

There will be a short dance audition. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Parents as well as children should be prepared to stay for the entire time, although your child will be free to go after completing the singing and dance portions. However, we may wish to hear groups of children together, or to have children read lines.
