California Revels is ecstatic to host Tradition Bearer and Vocal Activist Melanie DeMore in concert, in the first of our new series California Revels Concert Presents. You may know Melanie from our 2021 Christmas Revels, La Siréne, however she is an incredibly accomplished and talented Grammy-nominated musician!

Proceeds of this concert benefit both Melanie and California Revels. This concert was performed and recorded July 9 at 2pm.

California Revels seeks to create a joyful, transcendent experience of belonging and human connection through meaningful, particpatory engagement with tradition and cultural diversity, in recognition of our deep alignment with the rhythms of Nature, universally held values, and collective future.  We "Create Community through Celebration"!

Experience The midwinter Revels

California Revels is an independent non-profit theater, but we are affiliated with a number of Revels' companies across the country.  We all share similar aesthetics, values, and favorite Revels' set pieces, like the "Mummers Play" and "The Lord of the Dance".  Most of all, we share a commitment to bringing revelry and joy! In this short video produced by the Cambridge Revels, you can get a sense of the range of performances and community building that Revels has engaged in over the past three decades. Enjoy a small sample of what Revels is and does, all across the nation.  Revels companies all produce an annual holiday show or pageant, under the name "The Christmas Revels" or "The Midwinter Revels". We at California Revels feel that "The Midwinter Revels" expresses the inclusive spirit of our Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area.  We are passionate about bringing the poignancy, magic, and joy of the winter holidays to ALL, and we conclude every Revels performance with this exhortation:
"WELCOME YULE!"
